Quantum holds a number of popular breakfast seminars throughout the year. These in-person events bring together leading industry experts who address topical issues of interest to businesses and pension schemes. 

At each event, Quantum consultants and guest speakers will provide:

  • Investment updates – what is happening with UK and global economies
  • Expert analysis on pensions
  • Legislation and issues around governance and compliance

Celtic Manor Breakfast Seminar, Thursday 13th July

Quantum Advisory's next breakfast seminar is on Thursday 13th July in the Twenty Ten clubhouse at the Celtic Manor, Newport. These popular sessions bring together leading industry experts who address topical issues of interest to businesses and pension schemes. 

At this event the speakers will be discussing what is currently happening within UK and global economies, recent cyber security breaches that have put this firmly back on the radar of businesses and pension schemes, and the pension time bomb that we are sleepwalking into. Below are our speakers and what to expect... 

The event is free to attend for all Finance and HR directors and senior managers, pension scheme trustees, pension managers and anyone who has an interest in pensions and employee benefits, investments and governance. 

Registration and networking starts at 8am, with the seminar taking place from 8.30am to 9.45am, followed by refreshments and networking.

Investment – An economic update
Paul Francis, Principal Investment Consultant at Quantum Advisory 

Paul will update you as to how investment markets and UK and global economies have been performing and provide an insight into what could happen over the short to medium term. 

Cyber security radar alert
Chris Heirene, Partner & Head of Information Security at Quantum Advisory 

Chris will take you through a recent cyber security breach as a case study for incident management, go through five simple steps all organisations can undertake to start building a cyber security framework, and explain how you can minimise the chance of it happening to you and your organisation. 

Pensions – The ticking timebomb
Stuart Price, Partner and Actuary at Quantum Advisory 

Stuart will take a look at the potential pension crisis that could arise due to an ageing population, the decline in defined benefit pension schemes and inadequate defined contribution pension savings and what is being done and can be done to try and avert this.

Location and directions

The seminar takes place at the Celtic Manor Twenty Ten Clubhouse, Coldra Woods, Newport NP18 1HQ. 

Exit off the M4 at J24. At the roundabout take the B4237 exit towards Newport. After 100 metres you will see a large Celtic Manor sign on your right – use the designated lane to turn right and proceed up the hill. 

You will drive across an overpass (crossing over the M4). Go left at the fork and proceed up the steep hill, following signs for Celtic Manor Golf Club and Golf Academy. Follow the road through the golf course and drive past the front of the Golf Club. Turn right, then take the first left through the underpass, up the hill and around to the left for approximately half a mile. On reaching the gated entrance, drive down the steep hill directly to the entrance of The Twenty Ten Clubhouse. Parking is available free of charge. Click here for full directions and map.
