The Role
Come and join our fast-paced pensions administration team.
As a pensions administrator you will look after members of pension schemes across all aspects of their pension journey – when they join the scheme, retire and take their benefits, transfer to another pension scheme and answer all manner of queries. A large part of the role involves calculating pension benefits and communicating with members, so you should be comfortable with numbers and excel spreadsheets, and talking on the phone. You will work as part of a team of more experienced administrators dealing with enquiries from our clients, financial advisers, employers and HMRC.
Other aspects of the role include:
- working alongside our payroll and finance team to ensure pension benefits are paid out on correctly and on time,
- arranging the release of invested funds to ensure benefits can be paid, and
- liaising with our client management teams.
You will develop a working knowledge of pensions and an awareness of client requirements. There are a range of professional qualifications to study for and study support and financial rewards are offered. This is an ideal role for a recent university graduate or a school leaver who is looking to establish a career within a financial services organisation. Or you may have previous work experience and skills that you can bring to the role/ You will be willing to study for relevant pensions qualifications, and we will provide a generous study package to support this. As well as strong communication and numerical skills you will also:

As an employee benefits administrator you will be carrying out the day to day management of group
insurance schemes. You will gain a knowledge of the different insurance products available in the
market and understand how they meet the needs of the client

Working in a regulated environment, accuracy is key in this role. You will need to be organised and methodical in the way you work and be confident working with numbers. You will work as part of a small team to agreed timescales and standards.
This role gives the successful candidate an opportunity to start a career in group risk and learn more about the employee benefits market. You will ideally have experience of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel and have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work. The ideal candidate will have A level (or equivalent) education. Studying towards Chartered Insurance Institute’s GR1 qualification would be beneficial but not essential.

Investment
A pension scheme’s investment strategy is a critical area for trustees and one which requires careful thought and support from highly trained advisers. The investment team helps set investment strategy, implement the agreed strategy with suitable funds, and regularly monitor and review performance against each pension scheme’s objectives. We provide on-the-job training as well as supporting study for professional qualifications.
Actuarial consultancy
We offer Actuarial consultancy services to trustees of pension schemes and sponsoring employers. You may be working towards an Actuarial Qualification (full study support provided) or you have Actuarial consultancy experience and desire a new opportunity. As part of the actuarial team, based in one of our four office locations, you will work on our exciting and growing client base.
Secretariat & governance
We provide
full Secretariat services to complement our consultancy and administration
offerings. Being part of a team which directly supports Trustees can be both
challenging AND rewarding. Excellent
communication / interpersonal skills, and an ability to build relationships
(diplomatic, persuasive and strong listening skills)
is a must. Candidates are usually required to be Associates of the Pension
Management Institute or working towards this qualification.
Finance
The finance team delivers accounting, payroll and financial services. You will have the opportunity to work with both internal and external accounts, where we act for many well-known clients offering, variety, challenge and early responsibility. You will get experience of the latest advanced accounting software and data analytical tools. We offer support towards recognised qualifications such as Accountancy (ACA) (ACCA) and Payroll (CIPP).
IT & operations
Probably one of the most important part of any organisation is its business-critical systems. Our IT and operations teams support the planned future growth of the Firm by maintaining the IT systems, networks and communication infrastructure and initiating and implementing improvements in all areas of IT. We offer opportunities varying from Support, to the design and coding of bespoke Quantum’s service-line solutions such as Qchoice and QView.
