Senior Pensions Administrator

The Role
As an experienced pension administrator, you will join a team who work with our growing client base, dealing with enquiries from scheme members, trustees, financial advisers, employers, and others.
You will ensure Quantum continues to deliver a first-class administration service to our portfolio of clients as well as maintaining excellent levels of service for our scheme members.
In this broad role, responsibilities will include:
• carrying out and checking member calculations completed by junior members of the team;
• completing scheme event administration;
• adhering to the required processes and procedures and completing tasks within any service agreement requirements.
• ensuring all aspects of our pension administration are compliant and meet HMRC and pension regulatory requirements
• assisting with a wide variety of complex administration issues
• supporting consultants in the preparation of company/trustee meeting papers.
• providing training and guidance to team members as required
You will support the Team Leaders by identifying and recommending team training needs and carry out appropriate training as required. You will ensure all aspects of our pension administration are compliant and meet HMRC and pension regulatory requirements, identifying areas for improvement.
You
With previous experience within a pension administration role, you will be familiar with working on both DB and DC pension schemes. You will be able to complete both manual and automated calculations and be confident refering to scheme rules when required.
You will have ideally completed a relevant pension qualification such as the Certificate in Pension calculation.

Senior Technical Administrator

Amersham, with the option to work from home. Full or part-time hours will be considered.
The Role
Quantum Advisory is looking for a Senior Technical Administrator to join our growing administration team.
Using your broad knowledge and experience of DB pensions, you will be the technical specialist within the administration team, offering support, advice and training.
With an ability to interpret and understand the rules of each DB scheme we administer, you will ensure they are applied to all cases and will sign off the administrators’ work. This includes checking manual calculations.
In addition, you will help out with projects in the team that require a technical knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills
A comprehensive technical knowledge of current and historical legislation impacting pension schemes (in particular trust based Defined Benefit arrangements) is essential.
We are looking for candidates with a strong attention to detail as checking and signing off calculations is key part of the role. You will also need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills and be a good team player, training junior members of staff when required.

Investment
A pension scheme’s investment strategy is a critical area for trustees and one which requires careful thought and support from highly trained advisers. The investment team helps set investment strategy, implement the agreed strategy with suitable funds, and regularly monitor and review performance against each pension scheme’s objectives. We provide on-the-job training as well as supporting study for professional qualifications.
Actuarial Consultancy
We offer Actuarial consultancy services to trustees of pension schemes and sponsoring employers. You may be working towards an Actuarial Qualification (full study support provided) or you have Actuarial consultancy experience and desire a new opportunity. As part of the actuarial team, based in one of our four office locations, you will work on our exciting and growing client base.
Secretariat and Governance
We provide
full Secretariat services to complement our consultancy and administration
offerings. Being part of a team which directly supports Trustees can be both
challenging AND rewarding. Excellent
communication / interpersonal skills, and an ability to build relationships
(diplomatic, persuasive and strong listening skills)
is a must. Candidates are usually required to be Associates of the Pension
Management Institute or working towards this qualification.
Finance
The finance team delivers accounting, payroll and financial services. You will have the opportunity to work with both internal and external accounts, where we act for many well-known clients offering, variety, challenge and early responsibility. You will get experience of the latest advanced accounting software and data analytical tools. We offer support towards recognised qualifications such as Accountancy (ACA) (ACCA) and Payroll (CIPP).
IT and Operations
Probably one of the most important part of any organisation is its business-critical systems. Our IT and operations teams support the planned future growth of the Firm by maintaining the IT systems, networks and communication infrastructure and initiating and implementing improvements in all areas of IT. We offer opportunities varying from Support, to the design and coding of bespoke Quantum’s service-line solutions such as Qchoice and QView.
